Who I am
I'm Jim Tze Lau, but you may call me Hogan. I am also known online as SuperNoobCraft, hence some of my friends call me Noob. I have been playing video games for as long as I can remember, and now I am equally interested in making them. I would say I care a lot about systems, especially how users interact with them. How rules create feelings, how tools shape thoughts, and how small decisions compound over time, both in game and in real life.
I'm studying Humanities & Digital Technologies with a second major in Computer Science at HKU, with Philosophy being my primary Humanities focus. It may seem like an unusal combo, but I find a great deal of similarity between the two, and as someone who enjoys thinking of systems, both Philosophy and Computer Science complement my preferred way of life.
I enjoy building things. I have been playing Minecraft since 2013, when I was 7 years old, and I am still playing now. Aside from building things in Minecraft, there are also the games that I have made and will make, and this website, which serves as a record of the things that define me. I believe it is important to have a good understanding of what makes me happy, what defines me, and who I really am, not out of an egotistic feel-good kind of way, but simply to keep myself from being lost.
I'm usually playing video games, making video games, building this website, or hanging out with friends. In a universe with no intrinsic meaning, I believe doing these things that I enjoy to be the greatest revolt against the absurd, and the best use of my limited time.

Break free of the judgemental eyes of society. They do not pay your bills. They don’t know your story, they don’t know who you are, and they do not know how your thoughts/decisions work. Ordinary people live ordinary lives and get to ordinary places. Extraordinary people, live extraordinary lives, and get to extraordinary places.

'Do I deserve this?' 'Am I worth of this?' So irrelevant. Do you want it?
